Students Shine in Open Art Competition
Creativity and imagination took centre stage as students from Thomas Clarkson Academy and The Wisbech Academy participated in an exciting Open Art Competition. With the theme "Role Model," students were given the freedom to use any 2D materials and create pieces of any size, resulting in a diverse and inspiring collection of artwork.
Each entry included a brief explanation of how the artwork related to the theme, showcasing the thoughtfulness and depth behind the students' creations. Dr. Rachel Lawrence-Byron, Associate Principal of The Wisbech Academy, had the challenging task of selecting the top three pieces from the impressive submissions.
After much deliberation, the winners were announced:
3rd Place: Josh, Year 8 at Thomas Clarkson Academy, captivated everyone with his detailed and accurate pen drawing of one of his favourite characters.
2nd Place: Izabella, Year 9 at Thomas Clarkson Academy, wowed the judges with her pencil drawing that beautifully captured shadow, shading, and depth, depicting someone she admires.
1st Place: Emily, Year 10 at Thomas Clarkson Academy, moved hearts with her painting that conveyed a profound meaning and clearly related to the theme "Role Model."
Dr. Lawrence-Byron praised the students for their creativity and the thoughtfulness behind their artwork, highlighting the importance of role models in their lives. The winners received art supplies as prizes, encouraging them to continue their artistic journeys.
Congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding contributions and to the winners for their exceptional work! We can't wait to see more of their amazing artwork in the future.
