British Science Week Inspires Students

Thomas Clarkson Academy celebrated British Science Week with a series of engaging and educational quizzes and activities, exciting science lessons, and hands-on experiments.
A highlight of the week was a special guest talk from Maireen, a PhD student from the University of Cambridge. Maireen, who studies evolution and ecosystems by researching cuckoos in Zambia, shared her insights into real-world scientific research. Students had the unique opportunity to ask questions about careers in science and learn about the fascinating work being done in the field of ecology.
In addition to the guest talk, students witnessed their science teachers demonstrate various scientific experiments. These included Microscopes, Rainbow Fizz, Dry Ice, Pluck Demo, Elephant's Toothpaste, Vacuum Chamber, and the Whoosh Bottle demonstrations. These demonstrations not only entertained but also deepened students' understanding of key scientific concepts.
British Science Week provided a fantastic opportunity for students to take part in quizzes and science-themed activities, experiencing real science in action. The week was a resounding success, inspiring young minds and fostering a deeper appreciation for the wonders of science.
