Christmas Jumper and Christmas Dinner day
Thomas Clarkson Academy is set to celebrate the festive season with a series of charity events on Wednesday, December 18th. Students are encouraged to participate in a Christmas Jumper Non-Uniform Day, with Year 8 students collecting donations during tutor time for Sarcoma UK. This charity is dedicated to supporting those affected by sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that can affect any part of the body. Sarcoma UK is the only cancer charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma, funding vital research, offering support, and campaigning for better treatments. Each year, around 5,300 people in the UK are diagnosed with sarcoma.
Adding to the festive cheer, the Prom Committee host a Christmas Glitter Day during break and lunchtime to raise funds for this year’s prom. For just 50p per side, students can have glitter painted on their cheeks in Eden. However, students with allergies to Vaseline or glitter should avoid participating, as Vaseline will be used.
The celebrations will continue with a special Christmas dinner prepared by the academy's catering team, available for both staff and students. To ensure your child can enjoy their Christmas dinner, please make sure they have funds available on their ParentPay account before Wednesday, December 18th. For students receiving free school meals, this will be included in their allowance. A main meal costs £2.45, and a main meal with dessert is £2.95.
The day will conclude with KS3 students participating in the Wisbech Campus Reindeer Run. In a heartwarming display of community spirit, students from Thomas Clarkson Academy and The Wisbech Academy will join forces for a festive run/walk around the perimeter of the site designated for the new school sports hall. Students will don antlers as they complete their laps, aiming to raise funds for The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, which provides essential care and support to those in need.
Join us in spreading holiday joy and supporting these worthy causes!
