Welcome to The Wisbech Academy

As we embark on our inaugural year, The Wisbech Academy is thrilled to announce our Welcome Week, taking place from September 9th to 13th.

This special week is designed to engage our new students and set a positive tone for their educational journey at our brand-new secondary school. Our Welcome Week programme will blend a behaviour curriculum with exciting "Wow" activities across various subjects, including maths, science, and creative arts.

Our Welcome Week is tailored to ensure that students have a memorable and positive start at The Wisbech Academy. By combining fun, hands-on experiences with clear expectations, we're laying the groundwork for a successful year of learning and growth.

Highlights of Welcome Week

We have planned a range of engaging activities for our students, including:

  • Escape Room Challenges in Maths: Students will solve puzzles to enhance their problem-solving skills.
  • Science experiments in the Science laboratory: An engaging activity that fosters creativity and teamwork.
  • Whole-School Celebration: A culminating event to celebrate the students' achievements during the week.

Join Us for Our Open Evening

In addition to Welcome Week, we invite the community to our Open Evening on 26th September 2024.

This event offers prospective students and their families a wonderful opportunity to explore our school facilities, meet our dedicated teaching staff, and learn about our unique educational approach.

We’re excited to show our commitment to exceptional teaching, character development, and our specialism in maths and science. Our Open Evening is a fantastic opportunity for families to see first-hand how The Wisbech Academy will create a flourishing community where every student can thrive.

Attendees will engage in interactive demonstrations, discover our curriculum and enrichment programmes, and hear from current students about their experiences.

A Growing Community

The Wisbech Academy, part of the Brooke Weston Trust, is opening its doors earlier than planned due to high demand for school places in North Cambridgeshire. Initially, we will operate from a separate area within Thomas Clarkson Academy before transitioning to a modern, temporary building later in the term.

We can’t wait to welcome our new students and families to The Wisbech Academy!
